  • The Tax Department is seeking to employ a highly competent, hardworking and energized individual, based at Clicks Head Office in Cape Town, reporting to the Group Tax Manager.

JOB PURPOSE
To assist the Group Tax Manager in managing the tax function


JOB OBJECTIVES

  • Assist Group Tax Manager in responding to enquiries raised by local and foreign Revenue Authorities on Income Tax matters.
  • Preparation of income tax returns and schedules in support of the returns for all companies within the Group.
  • Preparation and updating of CountrybyCountry Reporting and adhoc Transfer Pricing requirements.
  • Assist with tax related matters on various ad hoc projects.
  • Research legal tax principles relating to specific matters.
  • Review of monthly EMP201 submission for local and foreign companies.
  • Review of monthly VAT201 submission for local and foreign companies.
  • Ensure that company policies are in line with current employee tax and VAT legislation.

JOB RELATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Post five years' experience in a large corporate environment.
  • Africa tax exposure.
  • Working knowledge of Employee's Tax, VAT, Income Tax & Transfer Pricing.
  • Working knowledge of deferred tax.
  • Strong technical financial background backed up with good experience.
  • Working knowledge of E-Filing.
  • Resilient and able to work under pressure to achieve tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts with SARS through continuous engagement.
  • Research legal principles of Tax and report to management on compliance.
  • SAP working experience advantageous.
  • High level of computer literacy and knowledge of Windows based programmes such as Excel, Word, etc.
  • Attention to fine detail.
