**Job Description

  • Purpose**Provide specialist support to enable the achievement of associated plans and digitalization roadmaps of Supply Chain.

Key Tasks

Safety, Health & Environment

  • Identify ways to support relevant safety, health & sustainability opportunities and risks and ensure relevant activities complies with all Safety, Health & Environmental requirements.
  • Implement relevant activities to ensure that expectations are met in a way that reduces safety related incidents
  • Identify value creation opportunities that will deliver Anglo American's safety and social performance requirements.

Performance & Delivery

General

  • Contribute to the development of the digitalization strategy and road map, critical tasks and performance targets for Supply Chain and the broader organization.
  • Provide specialist support with the implementation of the Supply Chain digital critical tasks and performance targets, focusing on the digital deliverables' roadmap.
  • Manage the adoption and deployment of new systems and ensure ongoing operation.
  • Monitor and report on the health of applicable products and clusters across the value chain ensuring ongoing integrity and sustainability of digital solutions.

Commercial value delivery

  • Ensure digitalization efforts enable value delivery.

Supply Chain Excellence

  • Provide specialist support with defining new ways of working, designing functional requirements, enabling systems, tools and templates and advanced analytics.
  • Encourage effective change through the organisation that will promote the use and adoption of digital solutions.
  • Compile reports and dashboards to ensure delivery of digital solutions.
  • Ensure effective data analysis and benchmarking for digitalisation improvement is conducted.
  • Conduct broad scanning activities to keep up to date with innovative approaches and opportunities.
  • Provide specialist support for compiling best practice definitions through research and data analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with global and regional teams to identify and address issues, glean insights from users and drive focus on simplification and continuous improvement in the digital space.

Inclusive procurement

  • Support a strategic approach across all digitalization work where communities are central to strategies, ways of working, digital enablement and associated initiatives.

Sustainability & Social

  • Support the Supply Chain sustainability strategy and priorities to the wider business through digitalization efforts.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance to internal Anglo American and Supply Chain Governance requirements for all team members and pertaining to all relevant activities
  • Ensure compliance to applicable legislative requirements pertaining to relevant activities
  • Regular, timeous and accurate reporting pertaining to all relevant activities

People & Teams

  • Embrace a Supply Chain team culture of diversity and inclusiveness
  • Support team's adherence to planned timeframes
  • Support cross functional team interactions with internal stakeholders to execute relevant activities
  • Qualifications


  • An undergraduate qualification

  • Bachelor degree level or equivalent, alternatively relevant qualification and proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity
  • Experience: Practical experience in relevant field, similar role and/or environment
  • Desirable: A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity.
  • Valid SA Drivers License
  • Systems Experience: SAP, EWM / WM, Excel

Technical Knowledge:


  • Strong technical knowledge across the Supply Chain value chain, ability to integrate and understand what drives excellence
  • Digital and Data Science knowledge
  • Sound commercial knowledge
  • Project management (agile preferred)
