    Role Overview

    Maximize the Effectiveness and Efficiency of the CEO's Office

    Provide strategic guidance, market analysis, and macroeconomic views to the CEO, while coordinating and managing the office of the CEO. Serve as a trusted advisor and ensure that the CEO's and EXCO vision and goals are effectively communicated and implemented.

    Maintain and build key internal and external stakeholder relationships, identifying strategic engagement opportunities for the CEO to drive Group Strategy.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Strategic Planning: Manage certain of the JSE's medium-term and long-term strategic planning initiatives, guiding and directing divisions in their strategic projects to ensure alignment with the CEO's office.
    • Stakeholder Management: Liaise with divisional Directors and foster collaboration and partnership on joint initiatives, maintaining key internal and external stakeholder relationships.
    • Project Coordination: Lead and participate in strategic projects, keeping the CEO up-to-date on progress, and assist in executing the JSE's strategy.
    • Communication: Develop and manage strategic communications from the office of the CEO, anticipating and managing critical communication, and considering the reputational impact of sensitive and key narratives – both inside and outside the organization.
    • Research and Analysis: Conduct research and provide information to assist in decision-making, identifying research required for the execution of the JSE strategy and CEO office, and managing economists and market commentators to provide executives with up-to-date economic forecasts and political analysis.

    Requirements

    • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Business Management or related field; Master's degree in sustainable development or a related field would be advantageous.
    • Experience: 7 years' experience having worked in a strategic or senior management role, proven experience organizing and directing multiple teams and departments, experience planning and leading strategic initiatives, and change management experience.
    • Skills: Companies Act, JSE Listings Requirements, investor relations, sound understanding of financial markets, strong communication skills across all levels, ability to influence outcomes at all levels, proficiency in data analysis and understanding of financial reporting, experience with budget management, excellent organizational skills, proven success in a project coordination role, business mind with a focus on developing creative solutions, strong project management and project reporting skills, and a proven track record of discretion, trust, professionalism, and confidentiality.
