    Financial Administrator Position

    Main Purpose of Job

    To provide support in financial control and administration, as well as contribute to the hospital's financial management processes.

    1. Collect, reconcile, and prepare deposits for patient administration funds received.
    2. Administer petty cash and ensure timely replenishment.
    3. Manage sure cheque books and maintain accurate records.
    4. Request tax invoices from suppliers and verify receipt of payments.
    5. Negotiate and manage relationships with key suppliers.
    6. Process sundry invoices for contracts and other expenses, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
    7. Assist in capital procurement by performing shopping cart functions and receiving capital goods.
    8. Receive operational procurement goods and materials.
    9. Perform buying functions for operational procurement.
    10. Dispose of assets, transfer them between departments, and scrap obsolete items.
    11. Verify asset (equipment) values and ensure accurate inventory records.

    Required Education

    Essential: Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.

    Desired: Certificate or diploma in Management Accounting or Accounting, or relevant financial/business certificate/diploma, including SAP Accounting Software.

    Required Experience

    Essential: 2-3 years' work experience in a financial environment or as a financial clerk/bookkeeper.

    Desired: Previous experience as a financial officer; experience working in a healthcare environment.

    Required Job Skills and Knowledge

    • Asset management principles.
    • Patient administration programs on the AS400 system.
    • SAP Accounting Software proficiency.
    • Financial management skills, including budgeting, financial planning, and Return on Investment analysis.
    • Stock control and inventory management.
    • General financial administration tasks, such as invoicing and manual payment processing.
    • VAT invoice regulations and compliance.
    • Statistical data generation and analysis.

    All applicants will be considered, with preference given to candidates who meet the minimum requirements and align with the Employment Equity Plan of Mediclinic Southern Africa, as well as internal applicants/employees.
