About Zodidi Gwayise:

I am in the position of B.Sc. Honours degree in marine botany and B-Tech in Agricultural Management from Nelson Mandela University. I am an honest, reliable and easy person. As an administrative clerk at Earthwize Environmental Group I was responsible for Stakeholder Engagement processes. Project coordination responsibilities, including project initiation, planning, execution, tracking, monitoring, controlling, reporting, and closure. Along with executing monthly reconciliations, this also includes managing projects' petty cash. Manage and oversee a number of administrative duties to ensure the business's smooth day-to-day operations. These duties include maintaining a productive filling system and providing administrative assistance for the executive team, which includes the company's CEO. Director of Management. I have also worked as the Assistant Agricultural Practitioner, at the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development and Land Reform. As an assistant agricultural practitioner, I was involved in rendering general agricultural services to internal and external clients to ensure sustainable development. Assist in providing technical support to all agricultural projects, food security initiatives, and land development support programmes, including planning, facilitation of training and after care. I promote a pluralistic approach and partnerships with relevant agricultural stakeholders and organised agriculture. Involved in promoting sustainable production of agricultural products through: providing inputs for the implementation of best practice, technologies and latest trends; supporting the implementation of programmes; evaluating the success/effectiveness of production systems and providing continuous support to farmers to ensure sustained production.

In 2019, I was a DSI-NRF Intern at the KZN Sharks Board. As a research intern, I was involved in various research projects including identification and dissection of sharks and rays. In parallel, I also acquired various scientific skills necessary for elasmobranchs research including compiling reports, monitoring catches, tagging and collecting various samples for conservation genetics and stable isotopes feeding ecology. In partnership with the Business Development Division of the KZN Sharks Board, I interacted with various stakeholders through community outreach programs. Amongst others, these include raising awareness on elasmobranch conservation and marine pollution through edutainment to high school pupils. Furthermore, I was leading an interactive engagement project to assess public perception on the ecosystem impact and monetary value of the KZN Sharks Board bather protection programme. I have acquired invaluable experience on how to engage and communicate research to the public at large, in particular through indigenous languages.

Education

I worked at Earthwize Environmental Group as the Administrative Clerk and  I was in charge of monitoring and maintaining effective administrative and support systems for the company. Responsibility to manage and oversee a variety of administrative responsibilities to ensure efficient daily operations of the business. I also helped the Managing Directors with personal errands while supporting the department and taking part in assigned assignments. In addition, I handled project management duties such as project initiation, planning, execution, tracking, monitoring, controlling, reporting, and closure and also had to organise and file papers. With the help of the accounts department, I also monitored petty cash and doing the monthly reconciliations for the company. I was also responsible in communicating with clients and managing their requests and drawing quotations and tender applications.

I also worked at the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development at the Assistant Agricultural Practitioner and I assisted in rendering general agricultural services to internal and external clients to ensure sustainable development. Assisted in providing technical support to all agricultural projects, food security initiatives, and land development support programmes, including planning, facilitation of training and after care. Assisted in promoting a pluralistic approach and partnerships with relevant agricultural stakeholders and organised agriculture. Assist in promotion of sustainable production of agricultural products through: providing inputs for the implementation of best practice, technologies and latest trends; supporting the implementation of programmes; evaluating the success/effectiveness of production systems and providing continuous support to farmers to ensure sustained production.
