Experience
Operational duties
- Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts, and reconciling with data storage systems
- Initiate, co-ordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
- Inspect all warehouse equipment and order repairs and replacements when required
- Plan, coordinate and monitor the receipt, order, assembly and dispatch of goods
- Coordinate the use of automated and computerised systems where necessary
- Respond and deal with escalated customer enquiries
- Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate
- Create and manage Priority List (list of orders to be picked in a day) as required
- Resolve operational issues as required
- Resolve Warehouse Management System issues
- Re-slot bins if necessary, considering volume and sales of items
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks in all functional areas
- Plan, coordinate and action switchover between academic years
- Communicate any delivery or productivity concerns to necessary stake holders
- Assist with bulk emailing of clients with any delivery of system concerns
- Ensure all new system related requirements are logged, tracked and actioned.
- Assist with the testing of new system implementations
Managerial duties
- Train, supervise and appraise staff
- Ensure quality objectives and delivery deadlines are met
- Assist Head of department in planning for requirements needed to be added to the budget
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Legislation
- Maintain receiving, warehousing and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational and personnel policies and procedures
- Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing innovative design layouts
- Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results
