About Xavier Highburg:
I'm Xavier Highburg and I have started my experience in the Construction Industry (building services) in 2013 doing my in-service training to achieve my NDip: Mechanical Engineering qualification where I have been exposed to mechanical draughting and modelling in AutoCAD and Revit respectively. The building services I was involved in was Fire (Rational designs, deem to satisfy designs, sprinkler installations and fire detection systems), HVAC (split units, VRV systems, chilled water systems), and wet services (medical gas, plumbing and drainage).I have attended to the coordination of mechanical services with all engineering disciplines and Architects I conducted site investigations and inspections to ensure that installations of all mechanical services are installed as specified in the designs and drawings I’ve prepared and completed, and that it complies with SANS regulations. I also managed projects from a cost and administrative aspect. Preparing bills of quantities and project specifications for engineering infrastructure to facilitate service delivery. I have also attended to the compilation, issuing and the evaluation of tender documents. I have prepared draft reports by investigating the existing infrestructure and applying engineering principles to ensure accepted engineering practices are complied with. I have completed my Btech: Mechanical Engineering degree in 2016 and registered as a Candidate at ECSA at the start of 2017. I have always been interested in growth, not only through experience, but also through knowledge, then started studying a Postgraduate diploma in business administration, part time at UWC in 2018, to gain the necessary knowledge to manage projects more effectively and efficiently as possible. I know I still have so much to learn and experience, but I am willing to do everything it takes in the position mentioned, by working hard to be productive and working effectively to achieve good results.
