As a dedicated and newly qualified Educational Psychologist, I have obtained training and have worked in a variety of contexts with diverse individuals. I learned the importance of flexibility and adaptability when working in a multicultural context like South Africa. My experience has provided me with training on various psychological assessments assessing emotional challenges, learning barriers and career-related challenges in order to deliver personalised diagnosis and intervention. In addition, I have been trained in various therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychoanalysis, Solution Focused Therapy as well as Person-Centred Therapy, depending on a client’s needs. I have developed my emotional intelligence and acquired the self-awareness, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills necessary for work in the broad field of psychology, particularly in multidisciplinary contexts.
