Identification of systems solutions enabling organizational wide strategic decision making and informed actions 

• Leading the development of strategic insights from external environmental scans identifying threats and opportunities to be mitigated or leveraged and used as inputs into Eskom’s long term Corporate Strategy, Five-year Corporate Plan, One year Business and Operational plans, and Eskom’s Priority 1 risks 
  • Identified untapped SAPP day-ahead market of ~1240 GWh per annum with an annual revenue of ~R2 billion that Eskom could capitalise on.
  • Identified an eminent gas shortage leading to the initiation of bilateral agreements to secure favourable gas supply prices
  • Identified Tx temporary connection method enabling grid connection to be done in half the time 

• Heading extensive research and analytics teams that identify the company's needs, evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of existing operations, and develop solutions to be implemented against vulnerable or non-performing areas
  • Benchmarked and enhanced Eskom’s cybersecurity strategy to proactively mitigate increasing cyberattacks as digitalisation accelerates and utilities integrate remote digital assets onto the network
  • Identified a potential mini grid market size specifically for Eskom and derived a competitive advantage through competitor analysis
