My career in the social justice sector has spanned 20 years. During this time, I have made substantial contributions to youth employment / employability, trauma recovery in vulnerable communities, mental health and wellness and the gender-based violence (GBV) response sectors. I am deeply committed to the restoration of human rights, advancement of mental wellness and extinction of gender-based violence in all sectors of society.
Most recently, I have contributed to the South African Presidential Summit on GBVF 2 and created the world's first GBVF response-focused, digital, multi-media magazine. My strengths lie in strategic leadership, impact measurement and reporting (with baseline), research, leadership development, problem-solving and innovation. My qualifications include a BA in Sociology and Psychology (cum Laude); MDP Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE Technical Consultant); and MA Social Impact Assessment (Current candidate - thesis pending). At present, I am the CEO of the Mental Wellness Initiative and Editor in Chief of Collective Action Magazine.
Experience
I have 20 years experience in the NPO sector, with the last 13 years at executive and senior levels. My focus areas included youth employability, social impact, economic transformation, mental wellness and human rights. I am currently the CEO of the Mental Wellness Initiative and editor-in-chief of Collective Action Magazine (social justice focus). Prior roles have included:
