As an intern I developed a web application that helped the company manage its day-to-day purchases alongside a programming partner. I was
responsible for managing and updating the various versions ofthe system using Git and Bitbucket.
I was given the responsibility of managing a relational database,this included creating and deleting tables as well as stored procedures which allowed the API to communicate with the database when requests were made.

Every morning we had stand-up meetings in which I had to communicate with my team and supervisor on the progress I made during the previous workday as well as any impediments thatI was facing which was preventing me from progressing with my work.
 

During the development process I utilized the development methodology called Test Driven Development which is a software development methodology thatinvolves writing tests before writing the actual code. 

This approach ensured thatthe code I wrote was thoroughly tested and metthe requirements before it was released to production.

I interacted with a Kanban Board which allowed me to breakdown my tasks into smaller pieces as well a track my development progress. 

The tasks go through 4 stages during development,from To Do => Work in Progress (WIP) => Quality Assurance (QA) => Done. During the QA stage my code was inspected and reviewed by my supervisorto ensure that coding standards were met.

I managed a company where the business model emulated some ofthe core elements of Takealot, which is selling to customers online without the need of a physical store.
