Timothy Jon Tansley-Foley

I am an engineering technician with 8+ years electrical and 5+ years mechanical experience. Currently I run technical operations for the entire Eastern Cape and border region. My portfolio includes tender and installation of new plants, off/onsite maintenance projects and general technical support to my customers. The last 4 years I have worked in waste management and recyclable processing. My branch supports equipment ranging from small 4-ton hydraulic presses designed to assist the retail sector, all the way up to multimillion Rand sorting plants deployed by municipalities and export manufacturers alike to generate income on recycling cardboard and plastic waste. Currently I am seeking to expand my knowledge and apply all my gathered skills to a new sector within the engineering and the built environment.

I joined Akura as a technician to service only the Bramidan baler division. After only one year I was promoted to oversee the running of the branch so the previous branch manager could work remotely and focus more on sales. By the end of the second year, I had upgraded the branch to a fully functional workshop supporting not only the Eastern Cape but the border of Western Cape and KZN. The first quarter of 2021 we had expanded our market share enough to once again upgrade to a new warehouse capable of supporting double the staff and support vehicles, allowing the branch to take on larger equipment and projects. I have learnt a great deal fulfilling multiple roles within the company and have enjoyed the experience of expanding Akura’s footprint within South Africa. I am now looking to diversify my experience and take on new challenges.
