Thembelihle Bongwana

I hold a BSocSc (Hons) in Gender & Transformation from the University of Cape Town, Master of Arts degree (Gender Studies) from the University of the Western Cape. I am currently at an advanced write-up stage of my doctoral studies, aiming to submit in November 2023 and subsequently graduate in 2024. 

Currently, I work for the Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) where I have been appointed to provide strategic leadership in the provincial office. My other functions entail managing the development of organisational strategic plans and implementation of provincial operational plans (APP) together with the general operational management of provincial office and staff. In my role, I learnt to be a visionary in the sense that I had to ensure that the APP is implemented in a way that speaks to the National Strategic Plan and is further in line with the National Development Plan and Provincial Strategic Framework.
