Thabang Matlhafuna

I’m currently, responsible for AgriTlhafuna Projects which based in North West Province and offers agricultural advisory services, feasibility studies, project management and business development. Prior, I worked with the World Food Programme (WFP) for both Zambia country office as a Programme Policy Officer) and the Regional Bureau in South Africa as the Regional SUN Business Network Consultant to develop the SUN Business Network strategy which is an initiative to encourage private sector participation and various stakeholders (government, international and local non-governmental organisations and academia involved in country nutrition programmes.

Also I worked in these other assignments: for the Southern African Development Community (SADC) development of minimum standards for food fortification for the 15 SADC member states. I was with DSM Nutritional Products, South Africa from September 2008 till December 2018, and during that period my role was Nutrition Improvement Program Manager, Sub-Saharan Africa. As an active member of the Global Nutrition Improvement business my duties amongst others included development and implementation of the unit’s agenda in Sub-Saharan Africa.

I completed my Master’s in Public Health at the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS) in 2013 which was an exciting celebrated occasion in my academic career. I went to pursue other academic interest in business studies and continued with my career in business and developmental nutrition. My previous academic achievements were obtained from the University of Limpopo Medunsa campus (Bsc. Dietetics Hons), WITS (Masters in Public Health) and Henley Business School (Managers Accelerated Progression Programme).  In addition, I obtained several certifications for strategic marketing, finance, stakeholder management, advocacy and communication.
