About Tebogo Godfrey Mphahlele:

I am a 40-year-old male with more than 5 years’ experience as a miner, a National Certificate in Rock Breaking Underground Hard Rock: Mechanised Mining, a Skills Programme: Competent Person B and a Certificate in Maneuvering Training Course where I was found capable of safely operating the Atlas Copco Boomer 282/Boltec 235.

Experience

Below is a list of duties of my precious position as a miner:

Ensure the effective operation of all blasting and mining activities during a shift.

•             To supervise team activities whilst ensuring adherence to health and safety practices and continuous inspection of working place conditions.

•             Testing for gasses.

•             Ensure that the working areas are safe through conducting early examinations.

•             Disconnecting of blasting systems.

•             Ensure and oversee the hanging wall, sidewalls and face.

•             Ensure the watering down of the workplace.

•             Monitor ventilation flow and control.

•             Install temporary support.

•             Check sockets for any indication of misfires.

•             Ensure that pre-use inspections are done on equipment.

•             Demarcate and remove misfires according to the required standard.

•             Etc.

Education

I have a matric, a National Certificate in Rock Breaking Underground Hard Rock: Mechanised Mining, a Skills Programme: Competent Person B and a Certificate in Maneuvering Training Course where I was found capable of safely operating the Atlas Copco Boomer 282/Boltec 235.
