Tasneem Dalvie

I am a 47-year-old South African currently working and residing in the Middle East. I have been employed as an Elementary Home Room teacher at an American International School for nearly 10 years. I have also taught and privately tutored Middle and High school both in person and online. Currently, I work at Rowad Al Khaleej International School – Dammam in Saudi Arabia.

I am a highly professional educator who is a good team player and attention to detail. Although I may be a qualified high school teacher, I have International in class teaching experience with grade 2 & 3 Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies and STEM which makes me highly adaptable educator. Additionally, I have tutored the American curriculum Language Arts from grade 1 to grade 7. For about 2 years I led and taught the grade 2 Math virtual classes for all the Rowad Al Khaleej Schools across Saudi Arabia which included Dammam, Khobar, Jeddah and Riyadh regions.

My years of teaching, private tutoring experience and Personal Development coupled with my qualification place me at a great advantage when it comes to problem - solving during urgent or challenging situations, while maintaining patience and resilience. My role as an educator in Saudi Arabia requires a great deal of cultural sensitivity and respect, patience, creativity, team-work and adaptability to any sudden school schedule changes. 

I am flexible and readily adapt to various cultures and surroundings, while respecting and accepting cultural differences. With these skills and experiences, I come armed with a passion and love for education to teach and learn. I feel that my indelible knowledge and experiences gained will allow me to be a valuable educator.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in English and Psychology, as well as a PGCE with Life Orientation (Senior & FET phase) and English (Senior & FET phase). I am also a qualified CELTA/TEFL teacher which assisted me in teaching students in the Middle East.  Experiences and skills I have acquired over these years have led me to gain great communication and interpersonal skills with both my colleagues and children from various cultures, languages and countries. I am passionate about communication, language, imparting my knowledge and ideas, education and training with students and adults.
