About Tarren Petersen:

I am a Bachelor of Business Administration Graduate (BBA Degree), with a Marketing and Public Relations major. My successes include successful sales drives as trainee manager at OK Minimark, as well as the implementation of my idea/proposal to standardise processes and procedures within two top stores in Absolute Pets with a view of implementation in other stores. I’ve also launched my own clothing brand in 2020. My current work experience together with my entrepreneurial experience has allowed me to develop critical skills which have been noted below. I am a highly driven individual, who is not only excelling in my career but has also excelled in sport and in my studies. I am highly agile, innovative, creative, a team player, a great leader and can work independently among other skills. I strongly believe that if you want to be a success you should not pursue success but rather seek to become a person of value and success will naturally follow with consistency and hard work.

Experience

Trainee manager core functions include:

Learning overall operation of store, including understanding store objectives, under the direction of store manager. Supervise, lead and motivate store Teams.  Handle and  manage escalated customer service issues. Maximising sales and minimising cost. Selling to customers. Store promotions. Executing extensive administrative duties. Merchandising. Assisting with marketing on social media.


 

Sale Associate core functions include:

Sales: Achieving sales & GP target, Visual merchandising and appearance.

Service: Provide world class service, provide sound independent advice.

Stock: Ensuring store is fully packed & orders placed accordingly, focus on loss.

Complete daily administration duties.

Staff: Brand ambassador, Product knowledge, Self-development, Values focused


 

Co- owner core functions: I run and co-own an online and brick and mortar clothing store since July 2020 and officially launched the brand at the end of March 2021.

Core functions include:

Marketing- Specifically social media, customer service and management, communicating with customers, temps, models, photographers, manufacturers, and designers, supplier management, operations, events management, product design, and product launches, running photo shoots, fabric sourcing, model sourcing, website content and admin management.


 

*Successfully elected as SRC Head of Treasury (University)

Core functions included: Managing 2 admin support staff, Procurement, project management, fund distribution, compliance, budgeting/financials, stakeholder management, communicating with university management, managing university’s SRC store.


 

*Public Relations Practitioner: Student.

The PR role was centered around using all forms of media and communication to manage, build and maintain the reputation of the client. Successes: We designed and built the NGO their own website. We loaded them on google maps combatting one of the greatest brand and communication challenges for the Home. Since then, they received many donations and had over 20 000 views on google maps. We also volunteered at the centre, which allowed us to intrinsically understand the core needs.

Core functions include: Communicating and building relationships with Management and the Board, social media and website management, initiated and ran fundraising initiatives.
