I am a text journalist with extensive experience covering JSE-listed companies, stock markets, the rand and economics. I am also skilled in photography, videography and editing.

Editorial Intern at Reuters News Agency (March 2023 -)

I have covered equities and JSE-listed company results extensively, while publishing two 'Focus' articles (one of Reuters's highest-ranking pieces) within four months. I have also done daily rand and market reports, enabling the creation of a wide-ranging and notable source list. I have thoroughly enjoyed covering the Monetary Policy Committee's interest rate decisions and the country's inflation data. While managing my responsibility in equities, I have written lifestyle pieces and contributed to video which has been flighted by the world's leading news organisations.

Intern and Student Journalist (Jan 2022 - Feb 2023)

During my time as a Wits Vuvuzela student journalist and later intern, I covered a wide range of topics relating to the tertiary institution space through text and multimedia. From sports to gender-based violence, accommodation to corruption and protests, I not only grew as a journalist, but as a person. I obtained sub-editing skills and worked as newsroom, multimedia, production and social media editors. I am Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premier Pro and Audition proficient and have a strong understanding of social media engagement. During this time I worked as a research assistant to Lizeka Mda in furthering her studies. While completing the internship I freelanced for the Wits Justice Project, resulting in an in-depth article about femicide being published on News24 in March. I was awarded the Patrick Laurence Award for Student Journalist of the Year in 2022.

BA Honours in Journalism and Media Studies (with distinction) (Jan 2022 - Dec 2022)

I obtained a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Journalism and Media Studies (with distinction) in 2022 from Wits University. During this time I received the Patrick Laurence award for Student Journalist of the Year. I was also the recipient of the Reuters bursary and internship for 2022 and a Wits University Post-graduate Merit Award.

BCom Politics, Philosophy and Economics (Jan 2019 - Dec 2021)

I obtained a Bachelor of Commerce in Politics, Philosophy and Economics degree from Wits University within the designated three years, while studying remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I obtained straight As for my final year of study.
