Tani Saidi

I have experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and software development. I worked as a GIS analyst for the Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC), where I used GIS software to collect and analyze spatial data related to the company's engineering projects. My work at ZETDC gave me valuable experience working in an engineering context, where I collaborated with engineers and other professionals to support the development and maintenance of the power grid.

In addition to my work at ZETDC, I have also worked as a software developer for a technology company, where I developed software applications using various programming languages and platforms. I have experience working on projects that involved data analysis, database management, and web development.

Overall, my experience in GIS and software development has helped me develop strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail. I am comfortable working on complex projects and collaborating with teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

A degree in surveying and geomatics is all about learning how to accurately measure and map the physical world using specialized equipment and software. Throughout my studies, I learned how to collect, analyze, and present data related to land and water resources, engineering and construction projects, and other applications.

My coursework included a range of subjects, such as mathematics, physics, geology, geography, and computer science. I also received hands-on training in surveying techniques, such as GPS, total stations, and laser scanning. Additionally, I learned about legal and ethical issues related to land ownership and use, which is important in the surveying and geomatics industry.

After completing my degree, I was equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to pursue a career in a variety of fields, including land surveying, mapping, remote sensing, construction, engineering, and environmental management. Many of these industries are in high demand of professionals with surveying and geomatics skills. I could also work for government agencies, private companies, or as an independent consultant. Overall, a degree in surveying and geomatics provided me with a strong foundation in data collection, analysis, and interpretation, which is essential in many industries.
