About Takalani Malotsha:
Takalani is a seasoned environmentalist with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management (Honours) and a Master of Business Administration, as well as extensive experience in mining and EIAs for a variety of projects ranging from linear to mining. This also includes legal requirements for mining applications, such as processing mining applications (mining permits, prospecting rights, mining rights, closure certificates) in accordance with the NEMA 2014 Regulations and MPRDA. I was in charge of processing mining renewals, performance evaluations, and financial provision reviews, calculations, and approval within the DMRE.
I am currently working as an Environmental Mineral Resources Inspector (EMRI) responsible for ensuring Environmental Compliance within the Mining sector. This also includes amongst other, issuing of Section 31L Notices, Opening cases in relation to non-compliance, Writing statements, Photo albums, dockets preparation, and giving evidence in court in relation to non-compliance.
Takalani has expertise and experience in financial skills, having supervised an EPWP (Youth Jobs in Waste) project worth R36 million. My responsibilities included, among other things, stakeholder engagement and project coordination. financial management, human resources management, procurement, attending the project advisory committee meeting, and reporting for 25 municipalities in the Limpopo Province.
As the co-author of a published book, he has expertise with Environmental Management Systems (EMS) ISO 14001 as well as strong report writing and scientific writing abilities (Refer to publications for details)
