• Supported the Construction Leaders on all other duties for the sake of project success.
• Assess and identify areas of improvement.
• Initiate procurement and monitor material receipt inside the reactor building.
• Manage handing over of project data.
• Track down project activities and coordination of project plans.
• Control Project scope and ensure outputs meets Contractual Agreement.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure adherence to project quality plan.
• Ensure all construction pre requirements documents are signed by responsible personnel before next step.
• Responsible for overall project compliance to quality standards.
• Arrange customer feedback.
• Ensure activities are on track and report any project delays to the Shift Leader and project manager.
• Assist contractor with onsite queries and coordination of activities.

JOB TITLE     : Mechanical Engineer in-service trainee

COMPANY     : Astron Energy limited (pty)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review drawings for compliance to company design standards as well as relevant local and international standards
• Ensures that drawings comply to company design standards as well as relevant local and international standards SANS 247 and ASME B31.3
• Provide site verification and hand sketched drawings to draftsman to be converted on CAD.
• Development of a technical documentation for regulatory submission to Piping Engineer and AIA
• Piping engineer support, reviewing drawings for correctness and conducting site verifications prior to approval.
• Manage and maintain and verify data accuracy and create reports and queries.
• Oversee both utility and process piping and supports using company internal standards. 
• Design pharmaceutical piping and isometrics. 
• Check and ISO to ensure customer satisfaction with the appropriate design conditions and specifications.
• Conduct field inspections and site walkdowns to confirm piping arrangement and layout.
• Create scope of work for estimating purposes as well as sketch drawings and designs.
• Check the PFDs on design and flow to equipment and chemical processing units to ensure correct hazard category group is adhered to according to SANS 347.
• Verify and authorize deliverable ISO to ensure quality standard while meetings customer satisfaction with the appropriate P&ID’s
• Make field trips to plant to do walk downs, sketch and take pictures of new piping projects.
• Locate support locations and input according to piping design documentations to ensure stress loads at support locations are correct. 
• Ensures drawings are correctness and conducting site verifications prior to approval and ensure it ties up with respective piping and instrumentation diagram(P&ID) and appropriate Line class.
• Designing and implementation of design solutions of given projects
• Support Operations department by providing technical engineering solutions. 
• Liaising with contractors and project team to ensure project is well on track. 
• Providing technical support to contractors to ongoing projects 
• Attend to Technical Queries from contractors.
• Compile scope of work for projects 
• Conduct site walks and verification on given projects. 
• Redline drawing to reflect necessary changes onsite as per design.
• Liaise with different contractors and submitting request on project quotation. 
• Attend project site walk downs and inspections when required.
• Provide creative and technically feasible solutions for cost savings, service issues, and project improvements.
