Siphosethu Nyalungu

I am 24-year old female from Johannesburg, South Africa. I am an individual whose patient, generous, caring, talkative with a strong, friendly persona.

I am very ambitious, enthusiastic, adventurous, goal-driven, and very open to new challenges and opportunities of growth.

My interests are: Travelling, reading, teaching, fitness, sports (athletics), shopping, and I am a foodie.

In 2019, I worked as a part time cashier at The South African Shop in Melbourne, Australia; where I did my student exchange program. It was a great experience that gave me new and amazing challenges that allowed growth.

In 2020, I was back in South Africa where I did an Human Resources Internship for a period of 12-months (1-year). My job entailed recruitment, disciplinary hearings, OHS, administration, and leave administration.

The experience was very enlightening. I learnt the dynamics of Human Resources, and the dynamics of the workplace. My knowledge was expanded and it allowed me growth.

Late 2021, I worked for Mnotho Technology Solutions (an ICT company). 

I worked at the company in 2020 as an admin officer/receptionist. This was before my internship. Then late 2021 (after the internship) I went back to Mnotho Technology Solutions. 
I currently work there as an Account Manager. 
I run a team and manage current existing accounts. Furthermore, my job entails bringing in new business by finding new clientele.

My experience is very enlightening and exciting. I have learnt team building, the importance of working as a team, and the importance of sales. 
 

In 2021, I began tutoring and teaching children part time (during the week for 3-4 hours, and on weekends). I don’t work for any specific company because I provide free tutoring/teaching to children that cannot afford tutoring services. 

I currently tutor/teach and it has been a year. A year filled with very exciting moments. I love teaching. I believe that teaching allows one to guide and help stimulate students of different backgrounds. Where the classroom is the safe space for students to express their mind, opinions, and knowledge in a respectful manner. 

Teaching goes beyond the basics of sitting in class, following a curriculum and follow a formal setting. It  can be incorporated in an informal setting. Teaching allows the rapport and expression of knowledge in an informal and formal setting. 

Furthermore, I find interest in teaching Physical Education (PE). I am very passionate about sports. I teach PE as an extra mural activity.

Sports acts as form of positive distraction to students. It provides a sense of belonging, safe space to express oneself positively, healthy lifestyle and relationships with people, and tranquility in one’s life.

I obtained my undergraduate Bachelors of Social Science degree at Monash South Africa, majoring in Psychology. 
I furthered my studies at the University of South Africa (also known as UNISA), where I achieved my postgraduate Bachelors of Arts Honours in Applied Psychology. Additionally I have a TEFL level 5 certificate front The TEFL Academy to further expand my career options. I have 1-year experience of tutoring/teaching children from Kindergarten to primary school. I tutor/teach children for free, as a lot of the children cannot afford tutoring services.
