Sibongiseni Ntobongwana

Sibongiseni Ntobongwana obtains his B. Social Work degree from the University of Fort Hare in 2020. He is a qualified Social Worker, registered with the South African Council of Social Services Profession [SACSSP]. He also obtained his Master of Social Sciences in Population Studies. He has experience in different work environments including Research, Administration, Community development, Character development, and counseling/therapeutic work. His diverse experience has given him the opportunity to work with various organizations during fieldwork practice. In 2019, he conducted a dissertation about the behavior of adolescents in the Netherlands and participated in World Health Awareness in Zwolle [Netherlands]. He was awarded a certificate of participation in Health Awareness. He also conducted a dissertation about the Living arrangements of the elderly people in the rural area of Khambi in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape. Currently, Sibongiseni is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Free State and specializing in Sociology under the topic; Social mobility patterns of selected university graduates in East London, Eastern Cape (2016-2020). Sibongiseni is culturally competent and anti-oppressive. He is confident with critical and analytical thinking. He is self-motivated and works very well independently and as part of a team.

I started to work as a Social Work intern at the University of Fort Have where I was providing holistic counseling to the community of Fort Hare. I moved to New Haven Chronic Hospital in East London where I was an administrative assistant for a short period of time and I went to the University of KwaZulu-Natal, I was a Master's student and also worked as a research assistant. Later, I was employed by Human Science Research Council and placed at Nelson Mandela University to work as a Research Coordinator for 2 years.

I obtained my matric in 2015 at Emmanuel High School in Butterworth. I completed my Bachelor of Social Work at Fort Hare University in 2019 and I was also an exchange student at Windenshiem University in the Netherlands during the period of 2019. I moved to the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2020 where I completed Masters of Social Sciences in Population Studies in 2021 and graduated in 2022. Currently,  I am doing Ph.D. in Sociology at the University of Free State.
