Shadrack Tsele

• I obtained my B-Tech Degree in Animal Production with Tshwane University of Technology. I have experience on both Broiler Breeders and Commercial layers, with a combined experience of 20 years.
• Full responsibility for management of the Farm’s processes with the aim of maximising production and quality. And overseeing Risk Management and Implementation of Bio-security rules and regulations.
• Managing Staff working on the farm and all labour related issues to ensure that all staff members are contributing towards the objectives of the company. Enforcing strict grounds maintenance and housekeeping standards.
• Doing the General administrative duties which includes Ordering Feed, Spares and Vaccines, updating weekly Graphs for our weekly meetings, Compiling Weekly and Monthly management reports.

I obtained my Diploma in Animal Production in 2002 at Technikon Pretoria. During my studies, I did my experiential training at the University of Pretoria – Faculty of Vet. (Onderstepoort). Our division was more involved in Rearing of Broilers, Broiler Breeders and Commercial Layers for research purposes. During that period, we (together with Vet Students) were also visiting the Small-Scale farmers around Pretoria in order to provide them with Technical advice on their farming projects. I was also assisting on other Poultry Research projects done by the University. 

In 2003 I started working for Astral Operations Limited - Earlybird Farm now called “Festive Farm” as a Trainee Manager at Tweefontein Breeding Farm. I was then promoted to a Farm Manager post at Boekenhout Breeding Farm in 2004. 

In 2005 I obtained my B-Tech Degree in Animal Production with Tshwane University of Technology. In 2007 I was moved to a bigger farm within Festive (Glenhill Breeding Farm). I have experience with Ross 788 and Ross 308 Breeds. Our team also visited the hatchery on regular basis to discuss issues on hatchability and egg grading. I did various training seminars on Bio-security rules and regulations as well as Vaccination procedures.

In 2016 I joined Quantum Foods where I was appointed as a Senior Farm Manager at Nulaid – Boshoek Commercial Laying Farm. The farm has five Sites with the total carrying capacity of 776160 Lohmann birds. 

I’m also a Mentor for students from the Tshwane University of Technology when they are doing their experiential training on our Farms and Hatchery.
