Selena Pillay

A high-powered Senior Producer, Selena Rhea Pillay is 28-year-old South African woman in the Television Sport’s Broadcasting industry.
Her presence in the sports broadcasting industry have been felt through her enthralling style of producing that has resulted in the production of groundbreaking and audacious Sport’s shows like, Life After Football, Women in Sports, Special Olympics, amongst many other productions.

She made her first debut in the Sports Television industry as a Live Broadcasting camera operator for Supersport. After a year of cementing her foundations in the industry, she went on to Join Gela Productions in 2018 as a Junior Producer for the monthly Hollywoodbets Dolphins TV show. After a successful three seasons, she went on to produce a monthly 26 minute cricket show Extra Cover, before moving on to the successful, cutting-edge football show, Life After Football.

Selena Pillay has climbed the producing ladder to become a force to be reckoned, her intuitive nature being the pillar of her strengths. Apart from the magazine shows, she has produced some national and international cutting-edge stand-alone sport’s documentaries. Her first international work was the Special Olympics World Games in the United Arab Emirates in 2019, where she produced and directed. She went on to produce the gripping, Game Changers-Women in Cricket documentary, an in-depth documentary of the women on and off the pitch in cricket, for women’s month. Prior to that, she produced one  of the biggest cricket development programmes across all nine provinces , Township Cricket, where the biggest cricket stars first emerged from at grassroots level before making it to International stages.

In the past six years, I've thrived as a seasoned producer in both the film and television industry. With a keen eye for storytelling and a knack for logistics, I've led dynamic teams through the intricacies of pre-production, production, and post-production phases. From developing captivating concepts to orchestrating seamless shoots and overseeing meticulous editing processes, I've consistently delivered projects that captivate audiences. My role has demanded a balance of creativity and organization, as I've collaborated closely with writers, directors, and crew members to bring visions to life on screen. Through a wealth of experiences, I've honed the ability to adapt to evolving industry trends while maintaining a steadfast commitment to quality.
