Pharmaceutical
At the beginning of 2017 until June 2017, he started working as a SAS Statistical Programmer at QuintilesIMS where he started modeling datasets and developing different descriptive statistical tables for biostatisticians. This is where he started his corporate experience and career as a programmer and an analyst.
Consulting:
July 2017, He joined Deloitte where he spent 20 months as an Analyst in the Actuarial and Analytics Solutions team. This is where he was exposed to a diverse space of analytics within actuarial, telecommunications, financial services, financial modeling and other advisory projects, and interacting continuously with the client.
Banking:
He joined Nedbank at the beginning of March 2019 and spent 2 years 9 months as Developer/Data Analyst in the Basel Risk Reporting team in the Enterprise Data Strategy for Regulatory Reporting. Selaotswe got exposure to an end to end process from the point after the data is loaded into staging tables, running and updating ETL that load data into the cubes, running and updating bank’s returns and being an administrator of Generic Business Model User Interface used by business units for submission of the returns to SARB. This also include but not limited to working on the credit risk calculator engine that calculate RWA that ultimately reflects on the banks returns
Insurance:
In November 2021 to current, Selaotswe had a split experience between BI and Quant roles. He initially started as a Senior BI Analyst in the insurance warehouse responsible for building and maintaining reports for FNB insure community. In September 2022 he moved with his manager into the quant space where he because responsible for all insurance sales reporting, automations and data developments and Point of Presence (Branch) analytics and it’s reporting. Three months after joining sales team, he became a line manager for one individual who started assisting with branch reporting.
