Sandra Mandaza

I have 18 years of professional experience, of which 10 years, comprised senior and operational management roles. My experience lies in Strategy, Sustainability and Programme Management, General Management, Energy, stakeholder management, Facilitation. Grounded experience was obtained while serving in diffrent sector,ie NGO,NPO, Public and Private sectors.
I have also acquired sound experience in strategy development, project administration, Project financial management and donor reporting through formal and on the job training. My skills and capabilities further extend to managing and delivering complex multi-disciplinary projects both national and local level. I have successfully turned around, improved business processes, effectively implemented logistics, operations, people management, risk, budgeting, and financial management, and performed monitoring and evaluation of various projects and programmes.

Project/Programme Management and Monitoring and Evaluation: This includes management of various projects and assignments (i.e. managing the development of proposals, project budgets, managing project staff, client liaison, research and report writing, monitoring and tracking of project outputs and progress). Sandra has project managed more than 20 projects.

Policy review and development: This includes development of public and regulatory strategies for national, provincial and local government’s strategies and procedures, for the reconciliation of natural resources sustainability and requirements to meet national social and economic development objectives. She has contributed towards development of The National Waste Management Strategy and the Green paper on climate change. 

Strategic advisory services: She has advised on some of the largest waste-related due diligences in the country, being able to provide strategic, economic and technical advice. She has managed complex planning processes for clients in an integrated manner that is sustainable, and which involves different components of the organization so that they take ownership of the strategy. She has acted as the technical advisor to support the implementation of the separation at source, collection and recycling project in Mafikeng. She also provided support to private and public sector clients on climate change and environmental issues, using her technical expertise in the field to develop the most viable and sustainable strategy

Stakeholder management and community engagement skills: Relationship building through regular communication with stakeholder and partners to achieve sustainable development is her forte. Sandra is also actively engaged in community development projects and has facilitated the ongoing communication channels for all her assignments.

Service Delivery Implementation support: She has assisted various municipalities to sustainably implement basic waste and recycling in unserviced areas, working creatively with limited capacity in rural municipalities.
