Sancha Eliot-Righele

I am an experienced, skilled, passionate occupational therapist, dedicated to improving my 
patient’s health, mentoring fellow OTs, and enhancing the profession by serving on various 
professional body committees. I am proficient in team development and training. I have more than 
20 years’ experience in treating patients with hand injuries and more recently general orthopaedic 
and medical polytrauma.
I am looking to challenge myself, test my capabilities and widen my experience and expertise from 
the South African context to a more international context. I have completed my master’s degree in 
Occupational Therapy and have many post-graduate courses from which to draw knowledge to 
augment my experience gained from treating patients across: government, private, insurance and 
injury on duty rehabilitation contexts. 
My strongest skills include a strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal communication, being 
organised, self-motivated and focussed. I take the growth of my colleagues and my own growth 
very seriously; am always happy to be a sounding board and to problem solve situations. 
Over my 23-year career I have held various roles; from junior OT in the government sector, to a 
consultant for a government hospital in the Hand Therapy department, to being self-employed and 
running the practice solo to employing several OTs and admin staff in my sole capacity and now 
with 2 co-directors.
