Career Journey: Began in hospitality at Irene Country Lodge (2010) as a gardener, quickly promoted to handyman. Studied maintenance administration to strengthen technical knowledge. Transitioned into mining with Belt Reco as a conveyor belt splicer, working across major mines including Sibanye Gold.

Hospitality & Property Management: Returned to hospitality in 2017 at Protea Hotel Hatfield as handyman (awarded Handyman of the Year). Progressed to Facilities Team Leader at The Capital 20 West in Sandton, later transferred to The Capital Pearls in Umhlanga during COVID, managing over 500 units. Joined The Oyster Box Hotel as Rooms Inspector and Team Leader, then moved to @Sandton Hotel as Supervisor overseeing more than 1,000 units.

Current Role: Facilities Manager at The Regency Hotel and Apartments, responsible for both residential and hotel accommodation. Oversee daily operations, contractor management, compliance, and occupational health and safety (appointed OHS 16.2 representative).

Technical Expertise:

Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance

Contractor and supplier management, including negotiation and accountability

Preventive maintenance scheduling and troubleshooting (e.g., geysers, fridges, generators, heat pumps)

Budget monitoring and stock control with focus on cost efficiency
