About Robbie Carstens:
I am a dynamic, performance-driven professional with a B.Proc Law Degree obtained in 1998 and an N6 diploma obtained in 1993 in Human Resources Management. I have been duly admitted as an attorney since 2001 and have been registered with the KwaZulu-Natal Law Society under practice no. 5497 from 1997 to 2018. Since 2019 I am registered with the Legal Practice Council under practice no. 43001.
Having had endeavors as an Attorney for nearly 20 years combined with my experience in manufacturing and retail as a National and Regional HR/IR and compliance manager I have a unique set of skills to add value not only as an Attorney/Legal Advisor/HR/IR but also as a Business Partner that understands the simple nature of the business to be profitable despite the challenges of our Country.
Experience
Started in retail completing my N6 Human Resources with 6 months of practical at CNA Stationers. Completed practical and started working for a law firm as a paralegal in labour law and collections. Decided to study law and completed my degree in 1998, and was admitted as an attorney in 2001. Up to 2014 involved in legal practice working my way up as a partner. Joined Legal Aid South Africa as a trial attorney in High Court for about 2 years. Thereafter decided to specialize in the private sector Labour market. Had 2 years at Shoprite Checkers as Regional HR/IR/Compliance Manager and opening of new stores in Zululand. In 2020 decided to go back into private practice due to demand in my hometown in St Lucia. Our small tourist town has unfortunately been ravaged by Covid and recent floods which have made me decide to join the job market.
