I have 13 years experience in local government work (City of Cape Town Municipality on South Africa), 8 years as a Manager, managing a region (or Subcouncil) of the municipality with office staff, which includes daily interaction with Ward Councillors and members of the public.

As a Subcouncil Manager for the City of Cape Town I assist in problem solving complicated matters for residents, internal staff members as well as for locally elected politicians (or Ward Councillors).  I guide in terms of City by-laws and South African national Act and Laws to make sure that the office and City runs according to the rules set out my local and national government.  But doing this I am able to navigate municipal bureaucracy and red tape for the greater good of the resident.

In terms of the day-today operations of my office I manage the administrative processes, systems and stakeholders (members of the pubic and Councillors) of the Subcouncil through the City's governance structure and relevant legislation and ensuring that the transversal management of line functions are facilitated, coordinated, monitored and executed to provide integrated customer centric area based service delivery, programmes, projects and support to the political structures, line departments and communities.

In my private time I enjoy astrophotography and hiking.
