-        Within the first 8 months I introduced The President’s Award at BIS
-        Within the first 8 months I introduced The Shakespeare’s Schools festival at BIS
-        In March 2020 BIS performed “A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the Fugard Theatre as part of the Shakespeare Schools Festival
-        At that time I was the leading director and I designed and made all the costumes and makeup for the performance
-        In 2020 I proposed the idea of an outdoor chess set to the principal.
-        This was approved and BIS got the outdoor chess set in 2021.
-        I came up with the idea to design an outdoor play yard. This included hand-painted play areas e.g. hopscotch on the paved
brickwork. This included physical activities to support their literacy and mathematics skills as well as games to develop skills
        like balancing.
-        In 2021 I started Photography for students who chose to do IGCSE Art & Design

EXAMPLES OF MY SKILLS

- Taking initiative
Conceptualizing projects was never part of my job description in any of my jobs. I took it upon myself to do these projects. This proves that I am very ambitious, focused, goal orientated and that I strive to excel.

- Leadership, management, and organisation
For my projects to be successful, I had to delegate tasks and coordinate the tasks as part of taking leadership, managing, and organization. Otherwise, the projects would not have been successful. I took the position of leader or chairperson to ensure the success of these projects.

- Time management
The success of these projects depended on excellent time management, meeting deadlines to achieve goals, and being successful.

- Communication
To acquire and exchange information and meet deadlines and goals, I had to communicate successfully.

SUCCESSFUL PROJECTS AT VARIOUS SCHOOLS THAT I HAVE IMPLEMENTED

PROJECT AT RUSTENBURG GIRLS’ HIGH SCHOOL THAT SHOWS MY SKILLS
The pupil numbers in the Visual Arts subject declined in 2010 and 2011. I came up with the idea to start Visual Arts Photography as a sub-stream in the Visual Arts subject field to increase the pupil numbers in the Arts subjects.

I realized that teenagers want to use digital media, for example, cameras, including cell phone cameras, computer photo- and video editing software, and therefore they would want to take Photography as a subject. I also realized that equipping the pupils with contemporary digital and technical skills would increase their chances of employment. I researched and designed the first-year curriculum for Visual Arts Photography.

PROJECT AT SEA POINT HIGH SCHOOL
I took it upon myself to organize a Design expo for the school to raise the confidence of the learners, promote the subject and encourage participation. I managed to get David Tlale, an internationally acclaimed fashion designer, as the opening speaker.

The success of this project gave the school-much needed positive media exposure.  I organized sponsorships for the project, e.g. prizes, snacks, wine, etc. I received the “Principals award for excellence” for taking initiative and a successful project.

PROJECT IN MY PERSONAL LIFE
In 2005, I decided to lose weight because my body fat was at 30%. Between 2005 and 2006, I lost 30kg of body fat. I went from a pants size 36 to 28, and for the first time participated in the Mr. Fitness South Africa competition.  I appeared in the media, for example on Top Billing, because of my success.

PROJECT AT LABIANCE PRIMARY SCHOOL
I took it upon myself to organize an Art competition for the school to raise the confidence of the learners and encourage participation. I organized a panel of external judges, all from the professional Art world.  I organized sponsorships for the project, e.g. the prizes, snacks, wine, etc.

PROJECT IN THE VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS
I produced and directed the play, “Bar & Ger” and conceptualized, managed, and executed a successful tour of performances of the play for the Grahamstown National Arts festival.

I curated a very successful art exhibition, “Die voël met die af vlerk” for the Cultivaria Arts Festival. I asked a writer (Francois Bloemhof) for one of his short stories and invited 12 visual artists to each submit two artworks according to the short story.

Both of these projects were financially successful. I organized sponsorships for the project, e.g. for the snacks, wine, the venue, printing needs, etc.

PROJECTS AT PRINCESS CRUISES
I started and implemented digital photography workshops for the passengers on board the “Sun Princess” cruise liner.

PROJECTS AT THE NELSON MANDELA METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY
I started the Drama Society during my 2nd year at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. During the same year, I produced and directed a play for the Drama Society and successfully performed it at the Grahamstown National Arts festival.
