I am in the imports industry for about 18 years, started with Lingerie, Clothing and now into Footwear.
Liaising with Suppliers in China daily.
Liaising with Buyers and Planners daily.
Receiving official Pos from customers, check costs and delivery dates are workable.
Raising of indents on Swift system
Ensure Proforma invoices are sent with the correct price and shipment date. Sign and send back to the relevant suppliers.
Creating styles and costs on Swift system
Liaising with Design team in terms of CADS / Tech packs
Sending off samples and swatches to buyers and suppliers
Sending off comments to suppliers
Creating workbooks for samples being submitted to the relevant customers and QC.
Booking of third-party inspections for bulk orders.
Requesting development samples from the suppliers for meetings.
Arranging collections for range samples from overseas agents.
Labelling and coding of original samples when received from overseas.
Sending out on order delivery schedules to all buyers and planners.
Production schedules sent out on a weekly basis to all suppliers.
Once briefs are received from buyers, cost sheets are sent up to send out to suppliers.
Setting up off final cost sheets for merchandisers.
Assist with negotiating costs with suppliers.
Follow ups on all samples and swatches.
Receiving shipping documents and setting them up for the shipping department.
Timeline management.
Requesting price stickers and LPN stickers for all suppliers.
Sending styling comments to all suppliers for the relevant styles.
Ensure packing instructions are sent to all suppliers, updating packing instructions for each order.
Assisting the design team with sending out original samples for development to all suppliers.
Setting up of the buying calendars for our internal teams so that they know when range samples need to be purchased as well as prepare for all customers meetings in advance.
Attending meetings with the merch team for presentations of samples.
Following up with our suppliers to ensure that all bookings for shipments are adhered too.
Uploading documents onto the customers portal after shipments.
Reporting to management on any cancellations / reductions / discounts taken.
Creating off order folders and ensuring all relevant documents are saved onto the server.
Sourcing new suppliers from China.
