Good work ethic with strong interpersonal skills

I completed my honours in language and communication in 2006 started working as a media officer at UWC shortly thereafter. I then moved to Independent Newspapers under the Cape Community News section where I worked as a journalist focusing primarily on the sport. I enjoy working to deadlines, finding that working under pressure sharpens my focus. After my time at Independent, I spent a few months as a freelance journalist before joining the Department of Cultural Affairs as a Publications Manager. I got to work closely with School Sport in the Western Cape and attended the National School sports championships in 2014 as the Western Cape media representative. 

My last job was as a team manager at Amazon Web Services in the specialised Account security team. There I acquired behaviour and people management skills, as well as learning various strategies to create a harmonious working environment that fostered a robust exchange of ideas and thoughts (I can provide a few testimonials from former subordinates if required). As demonstrated throughout my studies and the large majority of my working life I am an excellent public speaker, not afraid to speak in front of groups of people.
