I have an unbridled passion for Renewable Energy ventures, having started out in the sector back in 2008. I was in the throes of my career when the successful REI4P program was launched by our government. Having a prior background in Banking, I am now set on marrying my two lines of work, Banking and Renewables. Green Finance is an area with major potential as professionals in the sectors apply intellectual creativity in making the Just Transition not only environmentally, but also economically sustainable. 

I have spent the majority of my post graduate work experience, either serving as a Quantitative Analyst in Group Risk at two of the big four banks or at a Project Development role and later Business Development Manager in the Renewable Energy sector, which has contributed immensely to economic development programs. I started working in the RE sector in 2009 as Project Manager under the mentorship of Wiseman Khumalo (former CEO of Carbon Reductions South Africa). In both role types, strategic management towards our objectives has always been key and ingrained in my level of work. My prior roles have demanded and honed within me the following just to name a few, but not limited to: ▪Attention to detail, a trait that came in very handy during our submission in DoE’s Bidding Window 3 under the REIPPPP, the company was subsequently Preferred Bidder for 3 Wind Energy projects totaling 360MW ▪Excellent written and spoken communication, throughout my career I have had to issue written communications of various forms e.g. risk reports of my analyses to Group Risk Credit Exco, market research report to clients and various public speaking engagements/ presentations of which most recently I spoke on behalf of the company broadcasting live on Wild Coast FM over a series of 5 radio slots spread over weeks. ▪Executing tasks as efficiently as possible, as set timelines have always been a significant factor in my previous roles. From planning & design, permitting & facilitation right through to execution & implementation. ▪I have the ability to convey complex solutions, enthuse funding partners / other 3rd parties as well as working closely with non-technical specialists has been a daily requirement, fueling the need for excellent communicators and I fit this model.
