With over a decade (12 years) experience in facilities management, I have consistently demonstrated exceptional skills and abilities in various areas of the field. As a certified facilities professional, I have earned and achieved a 100% pass on the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health (Risk Assessment), my calmness under pressure was evident when I successfully directed staff during a fire incident (Sandton Skye), ensuring the safety of occupants and efficient system re-commissioning in under 3-4 hours.

I possess strong project management expertise, as evidenced by my involvement in construction requirements for new high-rise developments, enabling on-time completion without overruns. My commitment to facility management best practices resulted in near 100% compliance during fire mitigation inspections and substantial cost savings (Insurance) for the Sandton Skye. I have also excelled in policy implementation, drafting comprehensive standard operating procedures and emergency action plans, including a COVID compliance process.

In my current role as Head of Facilities at Capemay Properties, I have established a new facilities management division and currently manage the Signature (Mixed commercial & residential) in Accra, Ghana. Previously, as Facilities Manager at Sandton Skye, I provided strong leadership for a luxury high-rise residential apartment block, overseeing security, (Authored an SOP) maintenance, and compliance with regulations. As an Estate Manager at Sandhurst Towers, I successfully managed overall operations, implemented a turn-around strategy, and initiated cost-effective refurbishments.

Head of Facilities
Capemay specializes in luxury high rises, housing estates, and commercial office space for the upper income property market of Ghana and the diaspora. The Current flag ship development is The Signature Apartments, mixed commercial & residential high rise double block development. Currently the Head of facilities for all the developments and company office blocks with 37 staff reporting to me.

  • Established the facilities division and the property management business that operates and manages these commercial & residential properties.
     
  • Successfully convinced CEO to implement access control system and install glass/aluminum doors in basements for enhanced security and aesthetics. Meticulously designed and planned installation process, ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruption to operations.
     
  • Implemented a prepaid water meter system, enabling online water purchases for clients, ensuring seamless transactions and effortless reconciliation of receipts as well as streamlining water management.
     
  • Negotiated cost-effective vendor agreements for generators, sewage treatment plant, security, pest control, waste recycling, HVAC, and lifts, resulting in significant savings of funds and resources, optimizing operational efficiency.
     
  • Implemented a preventative maintenance program for all the assets across all the buildings, which was approved by the board as proposed and presented.
     
  • Project co-lead on the installation of the property management software (MRI/MDA) across all the companies in the group. As the Head of Facilities, my primary goal is to create a world-class division that provides exceptional customer experiences while maintaining a profitable asset to the highest standards possible. Here are some of the outcomes and accomplishments that I have achieved so far:

    Established a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system:
    Implemented a PPM system that ensures maximum usage during the asset life cycle. Reducing any downtime and increasing productivity.
