About Petria Venter:

I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Petria Venter, I am 26 years old and I was born and raised in Secunda, Mpumalanga.

I graduated from the NWU-Potchefstroom at the end of 2018 having completed two degrees (BCom Law and LLB). During this time, I was also recognized as a member of the Golden Key Honour Society. (This award is granted to the top 15 percentile of each faculty at the university).

Since then, I have worked as a candidate attorney at MA Malan Attorneys - a law firm that specializes in Immigration and Family Law. During this time I also attended and completed the 6-month compulsory practical legal training (Law School) at the University of Pretoria.

I was admitted as an attorney of the High Court in August 2020.

Since then, I have been working at NEASA (National Employer's Organization) as a legal advisor/dispute resolution specialist.

I believe that my position at NEASA has prepared me to be an asset for any company regarding all aspects relating to Labour Law.

On a daily basis I assist NEASA members (employers) with enquiries relating to day-to-day labour related matters, including but not limited to: contracts, unions, retrenchment, grievances, company policy, and procedure, etc. I also represent and assist members in preparing for CCMA/Bargaining Council matters.

I am able to identify areas that expose companies to risks relating to their human resource management. I am also able to advise which areas should be addressed and how to implement systems to protect the company.

I am further able to provide training to management regarding disciplinary hearings, policies, and procedures, grievances, etc.

I have learned a lot in the course of my employment. I had the amazing opportunity to engage with individuals from all over the world and from all walks of life. During this time I learned a lot about hard work, dedication, and self-motivation.

I am an enthusiastic person who is always eager for a new challenge. I am quick to grasp new ideas and develop innovative and creative solutions to problems. I work well on my own initiative and can demonstrate the high levels of motivation required to meet the tightest of deadlines. I adapt easily to new environments and I work well in high-pressure situations.

I strongly believe that my strong work ethic and enthusiastic approach to life will make me an excellent asset to any team.
