Oona de Klerk

Oona de Klerk is a versatile professional with experience in both the film industry and the health and fitness field. As a costume department crew member, Oona has worked with some of the most well-known names in the industry, giving her the skills and experience to work with VIP clients. She is used to working under pressure, thinking outside the box, and being discreet about confidential matters. Oona also has a passion for health and fitness and is a certified health coach and personal trainer. She is dedicated to helping clients achieve their goals and improve their overall health and wellbeing. With her unique blend of experience in the film industry and the health and fitness field, Oona is a valuable asset to any team or client.

Hi! I'm Oona. After graduating high school, I explored my passion for fitness and studied Personal Fitness Training full time at the Exercise Teacher's Academy. I worked for four years at one of South Africa's busiest gyms - The Point Virgin Active. I had a long list of loyal clients. I also trained a few minor celebrities. After 4 years of working in the same gym, I was up for change and a new challenge. 
In 2007 I did a major career pivot and started working in the costume department in the film industry. Over the next 12 years I worked my way up from costume assistant, to set standby, to principal costume supervisor on many international film and television productions, as well as the odd commercial. I also had the opportunity to design for a handful of local South African TV productions. 
Working in film taught me to think fast under pressure, to be solution oriented and also how to manage a team. My film career has taught me many valuable people skills - especially when dealing with VIPs. 
My passion for health and fitness never died though. In 2015 I studied with IIN to become a health coach and launched my wellness brand, Bespoke Body in 2018. In 2020 (just before the pandemic), I dove full time into all things Bespoke Body. 
In April 2021 I gave birth to my first child and began the most demanding and rewarding job of being a mother, while still pursuing my wellness career. 
In May 2022 I was offered the position of Assistant Costume Designer on a big TV show, which I accepted. 
I love designing and styling costumes. I enjoy personal styling and wardrobe consulting. I also offer personal shopping services and wardrobe editing. I can consult and advise on projects that are style, fashion and lifestyle related.
