About Ogungbemi Akinola:
Dr Ogungbemi Christopher Akinola (BA Hons Theatre Arts UI; MTech Drama TUT; PhD English Studies [Applied Theatre]) is a dramatist, playwright, and theatre administrator. He is a Senior Lecturer in Performing Arts at UL., where he teaches acting, drama, as well as conducts research and collaborations in applied theatre for community development on behalf of University of Limpopo and governmental agencies such as Human Science Research Council (HSRC), Services SETA and Commission for Gender Equality (CGE). He has written several journal articles and book chapters as well as written and premiered plays such as “Hakuna Matata”- a religious play (2016); “Tsietsi”- a single mum's odyssey of adversity and triumph (2017); “The Prince of Sovenga”- a South African Oedipus Rex (2018); “Ghost Twerkers”- a play on Gender Based Violence (2019). As an actor Ola-Kris has featured in TV series such as “Jacob's Cross” on MNet; “Room 9” on SABC1 as well as directed two Nollywood films such as “The Dragons” and “The Lincoln's Clan”.
