Experience

I have a demonstrated history of working in the Technology Projects (PMO) Office, Finance, Innovation, Software Development, CAPEX and Energy. A Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), that have worked in various project environments, from Waterfall, Agile, as well as Hybrid and have played a significant role in assisting project teams move from Waterfall to Agile Methodology.

 In my last post I was tasked with the Delivery of new, and enhanced products (Under the Mobility 2030 Programme).

I facilitated the move from the current “AS IS State” to the “TO BE State” of various projects;

  1. Ensuring the proper governance is put in place.
  2. Assist the Product Owner in putting together a Business Case that is realistic and brought into.
  3. Assisting the Product Owner in obtaining an Approved Project Charter.
  4. Setting up (and facilitating) the required meetings (Daily, Weekly, and Monthly, During initiation, execution, and at Closeout), taking minutes, and following up on action items.
  5. Monitoring and controlling the project performance in terms of the quality, scope, timelines, and costs, and highlighting risks and blockers.
  6. Engaging the relevant stakeholders and keeping all involved informed in the progress, risks, issues and changes.
  7. Sending reports  to relevant stakeholders, and EXCO.
  8. Documenting the SOP.
  9. Data Analysis and process improvements.
  10. Updating templates
  11. Processing of vendor invoices.
  12. Monitoring of budget vs expenditure.

  1. I facilitated a project of the soliciting and documenting requirements, doing research, and providing recommendations, and facilitating the implementing of a new EPM Tool for the PMO (JIRA). The PMO was relying solely on spreadsheets and MS Projects for tracking and reporting on projects, a process which proved to be too cumbersome and lacked room for collaboration, good for one-man project teams or DIY projects and didn’t provide the required project portfolio management functionality to allow VWFS to mature its project environment and enable us to compete at a global scale.
  2. I developed a new process of selecting a suitable methodology for the delivery per project. The organisation was using the same methodology for all their projects, whether big or small, which was proving to be wasteful and unproductive.
