My interest in pursuing a career in Industrial Psychology/Human Resources derives from my passion of helping companies employ the right people. In order to recruit and select the right candidate for the job, you need to have an interest in people and their way of thinking. I have an intellectual curiosity to understand how their minds work, what they derive value from and what incentivises certain choices people make. On the other hand, I am also fascinated with the organisational and labour aspects of the corporate world. I seek to help people reach their full potential in highly stressful, competitive work environments because the core of all businesses are its people. I am going to help businesses succeed through the attainment of maximum results, be it improved productivity, growth or profits and this is done through attracting and employing the right people. I believe that this career path will crystallise my purpose in life, to add a meaningful contribution by adding value to African industries.
