Nicole Pick

I have spent over a decade working in fast-paced and highly regulated industries as a business development, project operations, and compliance specialist. My career began crafting tenders and proposals for financial reporting and corporate governance, as part of a sales team targeting JSE-listed companies, where I quickly learned what was required to obtain and retain work from blue-chip clients with stringent demands. 

I then spent 6-years as the head of business development, strategic projects, and operations at a boutique law firm specializing in public and administrative law. Through optimizing the firm’s resourcing, streamlining its processes and employing business development strategies I enabled the firm from reporting losses to generating profits within the first year. As a compliance and risk professional, I led strategic multi-jurisdictional projects, large merger due diligence processes and submissions at the Competition Commission, and complex litigation at the firm. I have similarly managed stakeholders in legal class actions of over 70,000 members and facilitated community projects in mining and environmental projects.

Following the global pandemic, I moved into a consulting role at the firm and provided compliance and risk, business development and professional consulting services to several small businesses and non-profit companies. 

I have acquired unique professional experience to the opportunities afforded to me across a broad range of industries and as an expert on both sides of the corporate divide. Whereas, I have successfully designed, completed, been awarded, and implemented tenders and grants in both the private and public sectors - I have also had the opportunity to scope and evaluate sourcing, contracts, and due diligence procedures and have acted as an ombudsman and provided litigation support in procurement, contractual and supply chain disputes.
