Dear Sir/Madam

I am an engineering student working toward my National N-Diploma in Civil Engineering. I have recently completed my N6 Civil Engineering at Howard FET College and I am seeking a minimum of 24-months workplace experience within the field of my studies.

I am a detail orientated individual who is equipped to handle on-site investigations of work being carried out. I am attentive to minor points and variances thus enabling the improvement of systems with targeted recommendations. I am willing to take on tasks to grow within the field of construction as well as to grow the team I may be a part of. I am reliable, hungry for knowledge and see myself as one day becoming a professional within the field of construction of reinforced concrete. I believe that both knowledge and wisdom is essential to obtain professionalism.

I am in a beginner phase of handling quantities of material in accordance with The Standard System of Measuring Builders Work. I have scratched the surface of calculating construction loads such as reinforced beams, columns, slabs and bases as well as steel beams, columns and frames in accordance with Hot Rolled Steel Tables. I am well aware of the administrative system of the building industry- positions, duties and responsibilities of each member of the construction team. I am equipped with the relevant knowledge to obtain competence within structural surveying such as leveling, traversing, tacheometry, contouring and other methods which may be requested.
