I would like to briefly introduce myself in order to be considered for a position as a Draughtsman, Pretoria.

I have enjoyed learning the AutoCAD program and its features, allowing me to use my skills to their fullest. My experience with the program as a junior designer has given me extensive, hands on experience with all the required preparatory work needed for large-scale projects. Preparing the scale drawings, working plans for electrical, building, structural, mechanical and piping.

I am a keen communicator, work well in team partnerships and my high attention to detail has allowed me to progress within the computer-designing field. 

I think that my best quality is the fact that I’m a fast learner. Even if I don’t have that much experience with a certain task, with a bit of guidance I’m able to accomplish it quickly.

I am a hard-working, and I like to challenge myself on a regular basis. I like to set goals in both my personal and professional life and then strive to accomplish them.

I’m a very creative person. I can easily come up with a unique perspective about a certain issue due to my wide range of interests and hobbies. I can make good decisions fast. I can take charge and be decisive.

I am interested in the advertised position, because I want to improve my skills and knowledge and take on a new challenges.

Mechanical Engineering Draughtsman

As a mechanical engineering draughtsman, I used PTC Creo software to:

Design 3D modeling, mechanical and sheet metal parts.

Mechanical and sheet metal reverse engineering of parts.

Compile drawings of 3D parts.

Prepare dimensional drawings, installation sketches and drawings and a variety of more complex drawings (plant engineering). 

Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes, in collaboration with the in-house engineering group to ensure consistent documentation of the project.

Review blueprints, plans, specifications, and other customer documentation requested as needed by application engineers or project managers. 

Revise and update installation drawings for manufacturing/assembly floor to ensure consistent documentation of the project in close cooperation with the project managers.

Product/Mould Designer/Draughtsman

Duties: 

As a mould designer, I use computer-aided design (CAD) software and Solidworks to create plastic moulds for manufacturing processes such as injection moulding. 

Design and draw moulds.

Frequently visiting the manufacturing floor to inspect the product. 

I need excellent problem-solving skills to make corrections, and adjustments to blueprints and to enhance the final product.

Understanding key design requirements, leading the development of mould design layouts and concepts, and full engineering the complete mould design.

Work with program managers and customers to fully understand moulded part design requirements and integrate these requirements into mould design.
