About Nareshnie Maharaj:

I currently hold the post of Bookkeeper & HR Officer and previously a Finance & HR Manager.

Financial Management, Bookkeeping, Payroll administration and HR are one of my Key Performance Areas. Whilst i do not have a B COMM degree, I do have a diploma in Business Management and Administration, of which a large component was Human Resource Management, Communications, Sales and Marketing and Financial management. Further I do have the years of experience in the Finance Department. I have extensive knowledge in Pastel accounting and Pastel Payroll. I can perform bookkeeping duties up to Trial Balance but also reconciliation of General Ledger accounts up Balance Sheet. Reconciliation of Bank Statements. I also have knowledge and experience in drawing up budgets, budget monitoring, management accounts, cash flow monitoring and transcribing various financial reports from the Accounting cash books, petty cash management, banking and payments either by cheque or internet banking. I can perform Debtors and creditors functions (Processing of Customer & Supplier Invoices, Statements, reconciling monthly).

 

My experience under Human Resource covers all aspects of Pastel Payroll administration, personnel administration including drawing up of employment contracts, recruitment processes, performance management process, monitoring training needs for staff to fulfil job requirements, disciplinary processes and disputes with CCMA & Bargaining Council, Staff wellness and team building initiatives associated with this.

I am able to do submission of all Statutory requirements to SARS via e filing ( PAYE, UIF,SDL,EMP 501), COIDA (Pay annually and do applications), CIPC (Pay annually and do applications), EE & Employment Stats ( to Department of Labour) & SDL( SETA)

To some extent the Organisation policy development and updates.

 

My experience as Office manager included management of switchboard and reception area, procurement process of admin/office resources, ensuring that the admin and support functions of the organization run smoothly and efficiently.

I currently sit on 2 boards as a board member and a treasurer and render capacity building on finance matters as needed.

I had experience in managing a consultancy unit which provided various income generation projects.

 

I am also a tutor for a distant learning course called Finance for non-financial managers that covers all of the functions of the Financial aspects of an organization.

 

I have extensive experience in the NPO environment ( from NPO compliancy to Project management as well as in the Finance field ( working with fund accounts due to donor funds)

 

I am a very disciplined, committed, and hardworking person who is self-driven and motivated to add value to the environment that I am placed in.

I work well on my own as well as in a team and I am a firm believer of unity in diversity. One of my strengths that I have gained over the years of experience is that can adapt my Finance/Bookkeeping, HR & Administration skills over various sectors ( Corporate, NPO, Freight), and I have found this my growth journey that has led me to maturity.
