I am empathetic and dedicated Registered Counsellor with experience in research administration and tutoring. I am passionate about improving the psychosocial well-being of individuals, families, and communities. My experience in research administration has
equipped me with strong organizational and analytical skills, while my tutoring experience has honed my communication and
interpersonal skills. I am committed to providing high-quality psychosocial interventions to individuals, groups, and communities. I am seeking a position where I can leverage my skills and experience to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Experience
I have over 5 years of experience working in various administrative roles, including Student Registered Counsellor at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT), Research Admin Intern at Walter Sisulu University, and Peer Assisted Learnership Leader in Criminology at Walter Sisulu University. My experience has allowed me to develop a diverse skill set that includes client administration, psychosocial interventions, prevention and health promotion initiatives, psychoeducation, short-term supportive counselling, psychological assessments, research, and academic support.
As a Student Registered Counsellor at CPUT, I provided psychosocial interventions to individuals, groups, and communities. I conducted prevention and health promotion initiatives and offered short-term supportive counselling. I also conducted psychological assessments such as screening for mental health issues, aptitude tests, personality profiling, career advisory and placements, and psychoeducational assessments.
As a Research Admin Intern at Walter Sisulu University, I was responsible for preparing, organizing and storing academic information in paper and digital form. I liaised with staff in other departments such as finance and HR. I updated computer records using a database. I also helped international students with information about immigration issues, provided support for academic and cultural adjustment, and offered opportunities for involvement in the University community. Additionally, I conducted research in various concepts.
As a Peer Assisted Learnership Leader in Criminology at Walter Sisulu University, I assisted junior students with their academic challenges. I planned and facilitated tutorial sessions for first and second year students. I marked tests and assignment scripts. I compiled students’ marks to constitute their year marks. I also invigilated tests in the Department.
