Duties:

·        Performing routine factory feed water and boiler water complete analysis, bagasse complete analysis.

·        Analysis on refined sugar for colour and turbidity in compliance with ICUMSA methods.

·        Analysing moisture content, sulphur dioxide (𝑆𝑂2), starch preparation and ash conductivity in refined sugar, floc-analysis on refined sugar, brix-profile evaporation, phosphate test in mixed and clear juice.

·        Capturing data on LIMS to allow generation of reports on plant operational conditions.

·        Maintaining laboratory equipment (pH meters, moisture ovens, UV spectroscopy) in good condition by carrying out visual checks and minor calibration tests to improve performance.

·        Driving competitive health and safety of laboratory personnel by encouraging usage of safety equipment and PPEs.

·        Preparing laboratory reagents and sugar standards solutions.

·        Laboratory stock taking and factory stock taking.

·        Worked together with the lab supervisor to perform calibration on the lab equipment.

·        Processed and prepared samples for testing using the NIRS.
