Mark Burns

I am interested in the Food Service Assistant position currently available. I am a conscientious and loyal employee with more than 25 years of experience to offer. My experience includes a variety of fields, from financial management and purchasing to warehouse management and catering. 

My love for food and food preparation has led to the establishment of my catering venture The Little Scot Catering Company that offers mainly platters and corporate lunches. I am especially well trained and equipped to prepare meals for large numbers – a skill I put to excellent use during my time as food service assistant at the Afrikaans Hoër Meisieskool. 

Managing the food service function at your institution will provide me with the opportunity to do everyday what I feel passionately about – food and food preparation, in an environment that is both positive and rewarding.  

As an employee I will bring a focus on quality and a high level of work ethic. I work well within a team when required but can also work independently should the need arise. I commit myself 100% to each new task.

I have catering/food service experience spanning many years. I have not only done corporate catering and bulk catering for social events, but also worked as a food service assistant at the Afrikaans Hoër Meisieskool in PTA. Most recently I managed (as I have done before) a tuck shop at a local school.

I am qualified as a meat cutting technician.
