Marieke Gerber

I am a BCom Strategic Management graduate who is eagerly looking to start my career.

I enjoy learning and building new skills as well as refining current ones. I am adaptable and comfortable when facing challenges as I believe challenges make you stronger.

I worked part-time at a hospital's reception as well as a retail outlet while I was studying to increase my knowledge and incorporate the principles I learned during my BCom degree.

I aim to be highly productive and effective in my career. I am open to new industries and challenges.

I look forward to seeing what job opportunities may cross my path. 

2016-2018: Part-time Switchboard operator & receptionist at Netcare Greenacres Hospital.

2018-2020: Part-time Cashier at Seaview Spar.

2021-Current: Formally Unemployed.

• I have used my time productively while unemployed as I have increased my computer and internet navigation skills and used various educational platforms to broaden my knowledge of business topics relating to supply chain management.
• I have used my time as a job seeker to increase my entrepreneurial skills as I developed a product (homemade mustard) and sold it successfully for 9 months until it ran its course.
• I have increased my crafting skills through the creation of soft toys such as knitted teddy bears and various paintings which I hustled for a source of income.

2015: NSC at Framesby High 

2016: Certificate at Damelin in the Short Programme in Fundamentals of Microsoft Office.

2017: NSC Subject redos and got a bachelor's pass to study for my degree.

2018-2020: Bachelor of Commerce  Core Discipline: Strategic Management at The Independent Institute of Education Varsity College Port Elizabeth.
