I'm a gis professional with 2,5 years experience in ArcGis products, Excel, Google Earth. I am looking for anything in the GIS space to further improve my skillset

I had the opportunity to be a part of the Corporate G.I.S. department under the Information Management Unit in the eThekwini Municipality. Here I worked for 2 years as a G.I.S. graduate trainee and was fortunate to be exposed to various analytical and technical G.I.S. work surrounding the public sector. Through this experience, I was exposed to and tasked with the troubleshooting and installation of all ESRI based products as well as maintaining database functionality in order to provide technical support to clients and municipal workers.

I have experience gathering, collating, and producing G.I.S. data in several formats and datasets while producing maps to aid in information presentations. I worked closely with the disaster management unit in helping produce dashboards and workflows for their staff. I have entry level python scripting experience and I am proficient in information dissemination and presentations.I have always maintained a keen interest in the environment and its wellbeing since high school and was the top achiever in geography in matric. This base has served me well in shaping my career trajectory ever since.

I have immersed myself in G.I.S. innovations and technologies throughout the years as I feel that besides physically going on site and being hands on in helping with environmental solutions, G.I.S. helps me still make a difference from the desktop. I believe I’m still fairly young in age and career growth, and ultimately believe that because of this, being adequately challenged will help sharpen my professional skillset. As a result of all the above, I believe that I’m an adequate fit for this position and will be an asset to the company.

 I hold over 2 years’ worth of experience in the G.I.S. environment. I graduated with a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree majoring in Geographic Information Systems from the University of KwaZulu Natal.
